Factions is a complicated but very fun gamemode. Almost everyone reading this will know Origin is a large factions server. Do you ever log on and see people talking about things you have no clue what they mean? Maybe if you knew you might have an advantage. This is a guide on all things factions. Claiming Factions is very unique from any other gamemode because of this. Claiming is were you set a certain area around your base where only you and your faction can build, fly and other things. Its fairly simple to just do /f claim in your base an tada your base is fine. Or is it? Any base with just 1 claim is extremely vulnerable. If you want to really be protected then make some good claims. Claiming works in a certain way and once you get the hang of it, its really very easy. /f claim will make one claim. /f claim 2 will make 9, /f claim 3 will make more and it goes up to /f claim 5. These claims are in a radius, so /f claim 2 will give you an area which is a radius of 2, f claim 3 a radius of 3. Next their is /f claimline. If you have a lot of walls in one direction so that /f claim 5 just isn't working for you, your gonna need this. Do /f claimline 1-20 any number and it will claims that amount of chunks in the way you are facing while typing the command. If you go over /f claimline 20 your base is an illegal base and can be unclaimed by an admin if it is reported. Similary /f unclaim works the exact same way but putting un infront of the claim part so, /f unclaimline 20, /f unclaim 5. Chunks Chunks are what most faction players speak in when talking about the size of their base or their claims. Chunks are a 16x16 block area so effectively a square 16 metres each way. /f claim will claim 1 chunk. So /f claim will claim a 16x16 block area. /f claim 2 will claim 9 chunks. So 9 little 16x16 block squares. Power Power is what runs factions. Without power your faction is nothing. Every person starts with 40 power and that can never be lost. If you die you lose 8 power but not permanently and it will come back. You can go into minus power which is very bad as you are bringing your faction down. Each /f claim uses 1 power so you can't go crazy and /f claim 5 and /f claimline 20 your whole base with only one player. If you claim 40 chunks and that is your power. 40/40 and then you die, your base can be overclaimed. Over claiming is when you do /f claim on someone who has negative power and steal their claim. So always keep your claimed land well below your max power unless you don't want to have a base. Base Building and defenses Unless you want to get raided real quick your going to want to brush up on some base building and defenses. The most simple of these is your /stacker. /stacker stacks the block you have in your hand from anywhere from bedrock to sky. its great for building the first layer of your base. Note it doesn't work with sand or obsidian and it is toggled by typing /stacker. You use it by crouching and then clicking on the place you wish to stack. Next is Genning, genning is using water and lava to create cobblestone walls around your base to protect your inner core. A great video can be found here . There is a lot more techniques and defenses but this is just the basics. F top and F wealth F top and f wealth are the two leader boards that determine how good a faction is. /F wealth is the leaderboard that shows how much money a faction has placed. Things like spawners, Hoppers and beacons go towards this and they each count for how much their shop price is. /F top is the one that determines how strong a faction really is. /f top is a points based system. There is a few ways to get points here are some of them. Every 8 hours a beacon event runs, mining this will net you 120 points. There is various KOTHs (King of the Hill) These are Alpha, Gamma and Beta they run at, once every hour, 4PM GMT and 11PM GMT respectively. Alpha will net you with 40 points, Gamma 200 and beta 300, each also coming with some items aswell. Next is raiding, by raiding a factions "Core" chunk you will receive 25% of their points on /f top. F perm /f perm looks very complicated when you type it but really it is very simple. Type it and you should get something looking a little like this . These are your faction perms and they decide what people in your faction can and cannot do. So as you can see it says "Build". The default build setting is "Off" Yes "Mem" Yes "Rec" No. Officer, member and recruit are members in your faction. It says officers and members can build but recruits can't. This is changeable by typing this command. /f perm MEM Build Yes/No, change the yes or no to which one you want and the Mem to which rank you want. This works with every /f perm there is. If anyone thinks something else should be added please PM me and I'll put it in. Sorry for any grammar mistakes there probably is a ton.
